Material Handler

Overland Park company located near Oak Park Mall needs a temporary material handler to work May and June.  Wants to interview ASAP!

 

Hours would be 7am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 11am Friday. Overtime will be frequent and expected. Temporary position. 

 

Inventory control

Cycle count experience

Shipping

Stockroom

Adherence to company policies and procedures. Supports production employees. Assist in receiving materials necessary for the operation of the company. Includes delivering materials to employees when necessary. Keys material issued to work orders into the ERP computer system. Controls inventory of materials warehouse and holds for future shipment. Prepares and packages finished goods and other materials in proper containers for safe shipment. Ensures proper markings on containers. Coordinates the shipment of equipment to customers. Sets up carriers, weighs shipments, prepares weigh bills and prepares shipping labels to ensure proper destinations. Maintains the warehouse ensuring a safe and orderly work place. Transports material to and from vendors as required. Participates and contributes in the Quality Improvement Process. Performs other stockroom/shipping duties as assigned.

Competencies for Position: Education / Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. 
Minimum 2-year experience in production environment with a shipping and receiving background. Working knowledge of government and commercial packing and shipping specifications. Knowledge of anti-static handling requirements. 
Skilled at: General office and computer input skills. Communication ability to work with others. Must be detail oriented and capable of handling multiple priorities.
Must be detailed oriented with high emphasis on accuracy. Frequent pressures to meet scheduled deadlines may involve working extended hours. May perform heavy lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs.) on a daily basis.  Long periods of standing required.
