Our client, a financial organization in the West County area, is currently seeking a Margin Associate to join their busy team. The position will pay within the range of $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based upon experience. This is a long-term temporary assignment that is slated to last 6+ months with some potential for permanent hire for the right candidate. 


  • Analyze and maintain customer accounts
  • Add, remove and update margins, risks and memos
  • Collect large margin deficiencies
  • Determine appropriate balance of customer service possible given risk exposure and take action
  • Monitor daily margin reports for customer and firm risk exposure
  • Analyze and approve requests for FINRA extensions
  • Analyze and process customer payout requests
  • Review accounts with Compliance and Legal departments for disbursement approval
  • Provide customer service to branch and Service Center associates
  • Recalculate buying power and cash available for withdrawal
  • Process movements of stock and/or funds within or between customer accounts 
  • Review day trading accounts and turn on trading capabilities when applicable
  • Process returned customer deposits
  • Monitor accounts with low equity
  • Process movements and balance type 4 (dividend) and type 7 (FRIP) as necessary
  • Previous experience with brokerage back office operations, including work with margins
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to enforce policies in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Good organizational skills and time management
  • Excellent math skills and the ability to compute fractions and decimals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
