Our client, a large financial organization located in West County is seeking an IT Security Specialist to start immediately! This is a 6-month contract position and will pay between $50.00-$60.00 per hour depending on background and experience.

 

Duties:

 
  • Manage the daily operations of the network and end point security engineers
  • Set, measure and report weekly goals with IT security supervisors
  • Perform advanced date analysis across a large set of complex network and security data, identify patters, and transform the data through analytics into actionable information
  • Work with the Project Management team to ensure all projects are on schedule and meet objectives set forth by Senior Management and the business
  • Develop, report, analyze and maintain KPI's (key performance indicator) for information security engineers & operators
  • Provide technical oversight of implemented and new solutions
  • Assist senior management in defining the overall information security strategy. Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy
  • Design, implement and maintain security-focused infrastructure and evaluate new and emerging products and technologies
  • Provide guidance, coaching & development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs. Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, merit allocations, and disciplinary action as required
  • Manage department workflow and provide guidance on departmental projects/issues. Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to team members
  • Support budget planning and expenditure
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field

  • 8 – 12 years of relevant working experience; 5 years experience in information systems environment, preferably in IT Security

  • Certification in information security (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) preferred

  • Familiarity with external regulations, e.g., DIACAP, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley; Strong understanding of information security principles; Familiarity with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures; Understanding of data communication networks; Experience with security tools and systems; PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with internal/external entities and executives a must;

  • Effective leadership skills demonstrated ability to coordinate people and teams to project/activity completion and the ability to work in a team environment, sharing workloads and responsibilities;

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
